23 Weeks

Hi my heart,

I have the privilege to have a position at my company to work from home.  Thus far since my return from maternity leave I have balanced work with the help of your Dad, Grand, and others.  Now that the holidays are over and school is back in session we knew we needed to make a decision on your daily needs and care.  You were already enrolled in a daycare but we were not ready for that.  So your Dad and I decided to look for a nanny instead.  Well this week your nanny started and we are so excited!!  Her name is Hannah. She is so sweet and I think she is already smitten with you.  I know that  she has been such a blessing to us in just a short amount of time.

She plays with you so well and has been working on sitting up by yourself.  Oh and you are mastering it.  My "goal" was for you to be sitting up by your 6 month photos with Aunt BK and now you have a few weeks to perfect it ;)

Also this week your Dad and I celebrated 4 years of marriage.  We have had an amazing start to our years together - travelled to Ireland for my 30th, added our bonus room and half bath upstairs, lived in the UK for a year, travelled all around Europe...and now we have you.  You are the best thing we have done thus far.  You have shown us what true love is and how well we work as our little family of three.  We have big hopes and dreams for us...and we will work hard to make them come true.  As your Dad says...this is not a dress rehearsal.  We only live once.  Thank you for making one big dream come true.

You are like Linus...you must sleep with your "blanket"

You make the world a better place.

I love you,
Momma

My dear growing boy,

I am amazed at how quickly you change and learn new things.  And I know this just keeps happening from other mom's experiences way too fast.  It will be the same for you but not all children are the same.  You might sit up on your own, stand on your own and walk at different times than your Dad or I did or some kid down the street and that is ok.

You are you, not anyone else.

You are rolling over all the time.  You never end a nap in the same position you started it in.

You are doing well at sitting up.  You do not have the balance just yet to sit on your own but you will soon.

You have been taking your last few baths with me and yesterday you had your first shower.  You didn't protest but I do think you like baths more.

You have been going on 4 feedings the past 3 nights.  You are eating around 8pm and going to sleep until after 630am.  So no more 10/1030pm bottle.  And today you started rice cereal.  Your doc wanted you to try rice cereal sometime before 6 months to teach you how to eat.  You ate every bite!  Now we wait until your 6 month appointment to know his suggestions for introducing real food.

You could stop growing so fast but I am loving every minute of it.

Next week we have some exciting changes coming...more on them next week.

I love you the mostest,
Momma

21 Weeks

My little one...

You are 5 months.  WOW.  Time flies when you are having fun but seems to fly even more since you have joined our lives.

I love the squeal that accompanies this grin.

We have been having a cuddling in kind of week around here.  I am on the mend from a sinus infection (story of my life...) You have had a touch of a belly ache and have some congestion but thankfully no fever - touch wood.

"Scootin"

Tomorrow is a big day and we are breaking out the silver!  We are celebrating your Godmother and her baby Reme Lynn with a baby shower.  I hope we are able to make Jess feel as loved as she made me feel when they showered us.

Friends having babies = more fun times ahead!

Thank you for making my life sweeter...

I love you,
Momma

Happy New Year Harrison!!

The start of 2012 you were just a tiny life.  The year ended with your sweet face.

We did not spend New Year's Eve together but you were sleeping soundly and warm in your bed while your Dad and I were in Chattanooga ringing in the New Year with your Uncle Matthew and Aunt Jenny.  New Year's is a holiday that I am not overly fond of.  I like to reflect on the past year and how things have changed but the celebration is at times disappointing.  Unless you go to Hogmanay in Edinburgh, Scotland...we will take you there many, many years from now.

I do not give into making Resolutions as most are broken in the first month - dieting, exercise, writing in a journal, or doing something new each day (Like buying leather pants.  This is not wise.  I will show you why one day.)  I hope we can teach you to find a good balance in life and how this is not applicable to just January 1.  Finding balance is an ongoing challenge as we grow and change throughout our life.

Our last photo of 2012.

Here are a great few things from over the past week...

Mail from Kristine in the UK...she made this bunny for you!

You have discovered you can eat your toes.

We took a trip to Bass Pro Shop and it ended with camo shoes.

You are still giving the Bumbo a try but not loving it.

You would rather jump til you pass out!!

Thank you for making 2012 the best year of my life.  I cannot wait to see what 2013 has in store for our family.

I love you,
Momma
